Learning from the Best: Anuj Rawat's Journey
New Delhi, August 18: Anuj Rawat, the captain of East Delhi Riders, has expressed the significant knowledge he has gained while training alongside his Gujarat Titans (GT) teammate Jos Buttler and assistant coach Parthiv Patel during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
He noted that engaging with them both during practice sessions and in casual conversations has provided him with essential skills and strategies that he might not have uncovered independently, which is enhancing his performance in the current Delhi Premier League (DPL).
“There’s a lot of discussion happening. With Jos Butler and Parthiv Patel around, practicing with them allows me to learn intricate details. As a batter, there are techniques I can’t master alone, but I gain insights from them. I frequently converse with Jos both on and off the field. My collaboration with Parthiv Patel has also been beneficial this season,” Rawat shared.
Under his leadership, the East Delhi Riders have secured five wins out of seven matches, placing them second in the DPL standings. Rawat has been in excellent form with the bat.
He has accumulated 232 runs in seven games, boasting an average of 46.40 and an impressive strike rate of 184.13, including three half-centuries.
Rawat is optimistic that his strong performances in the DPL will carry over into the upcoming Indian domestic season, asserting that he feels fully prepared to participate in the IPL.
“Everything I’m showcasing in the DPL will reflect in the domestic circuit as well. I genuinely believe I am 100 percent ready for the IPL,” he added.
Although Rawat did not feature in any matches for GT during IPL 2025, he has participated in 24 games throughout his IPL career, scoring 318 runs at an average of 19.88 and a strike rate of 119.10.
